Building Rook & Oak

An honest record of starting a British heritage menswear brand — what we've done, what we're waiting on, and what happens next. No gloss, no borrowed heritage.

The crest becomes ours

We filed the Rook & Oak crest as a UK trade mark. It sounds like paperwork, but it matters: the badge on the chest of every shirt is now formally ours, and nobody else can put it on theirs. The rook is the chess piece — strategy, patience, protection — with an oak sprig at its heart.

Two pieces, done properly

We could have launched with a full range. We chose not to. The Heritage Polo and the Heritage Quarter-Zip are the whole launch collection, in development with a UK-based partner. Six colourways each, two crest colourways, limited numbers. Fewer pieces, more care.

The Founding 50

The first fifty people to register their interest will get 15% off their first order. Not the first fifty to buy — the first fifty to believe. When launch day comes, they'll hear from us before anyone else.

Coming next

Samples, then prices

We're waiting on samples and final costs before we set a single price. We'd rather tell you a real number once than a guessed number twice. When the samples are in hand and the sums are done, prices go on the site and the list hears first.

Follow the journey

Register your interest and you'll hear about samples, prices and launch before anyone else — and the first fifty on the list get 15% off their first order.
